The last defeat came against Modena at home court. It looked like that Perugia were finally close to overpower one of the favorites, however they got defeated after five sets.
“We had to win this match,” started Perugia head coach Slobodan Kovač. “We missed a big opportunity in the first set, while we also ruined 5-6 counterattacks in the tie-break. It’s obvious that we still lack something to beat top teams. I want from my players to be more aggressive. I want to see hunger for victory in their eyes. But, I must congratulate them on their hard work, especially in this very difficult situation when we have a lot of problems with injuries. De Cecco and Atanasijević were not feeling good the night before the game, while I could use Kaliberda only in the second line. I wish I could have one training with all my players on court.”
