Despite his battle with cancer, he remained dedicated to volleyball, drawing strength from the sport. His approach to coaching was marked by passion, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep concern for his players’ needs and thoughts.

His journey in German volleyball began in 2003, and he soon etched his name in history by leading SSC Palmberg Schwerin to a German Championship and DVV Cup title in 2006, followed by another championship in 2011. Aleksandersen’s impact at Schwerin was profound, with a total of 228 appearances over seven years, making him one of the club’s most successful coaches.

His determination and expertise were evident as he led Stuttgart to the final series for the German championship in his first year and subsequently to a national double and the final of the CEV Cup.

The 2022/23 championship title, secured amidst health challenges, was a testament to his indomitable spirit. Aleksandersen ended his illustrious career after this season due to his illness.
