On Friday the stadium that normally hosts the home matches of the Danish soccer national team as well as of FC Copenhagen was transformed into a Volleyball arena waiting for the semis coming up on Saturday afternoon and where Russia will play Serbia at 3 pm before Bulgaria and Italy cross their ways in the second semifinal match at 6 pm.
On Sunday evening, after the gold medal match, Emmelie de Forest will perform “Only Teardrops”, the song whereby she won the last edition of the Eurovision Song Contest held this past May in Malmoe, Sweden.

“Since this past September 20 the best Volleyball players in Europe have fought hard to make the final weekend here in Copenhagen. We also know that fans from as many as 33 countries including Japan, Canada, and Australia are coming to Copenhagen especially for the final stage of the EuroVolley sponsored by VELUX” says Managing Director Mads Bang Aaen. “They will also have the possibility to party in the huge Fan Zone set up at Parken stadium. I am very happy that Emmelie de Forest has accepted our proposal and will be performing during the closing ceremony of the Championship. The matches of the final weekend will be televised in more than 160 countries and I am sure that our fans following the games on TV will also be impressed with the great settings available at Parken stadium” he concludes.
