POL M: Mateusz Mika Signs with PGE Skra Bełchatów for 2023/2024 Season

32-year-old Polish outside hitter, Mateusz Mika, is set to join PGE Skra Bełchatów for the 2023/2024 volleyball season. Mika had an illustrious career, starting from Hejnał Kęty to SMS PZPS Spała, and then signing with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in 2009. His career includes representation of teams such as Trefl Gdańsk, Montpellier UC, and AZS Olsztyn, and most recently, he played in the Turkish league for Türşad.

Mika’s trophy cabinet includes a Polish Championship title (2011/2012), two Polish Cups, and a Polish Super Cup, all while being named the MVP of the Polish Cup and the Polish Super Cup in 2015, and the best receiver of the Polish Cup in 2018.

Internationally, Mika has represented Poland in 91 matches. His debut came in 2010 and culminated in a World Championship victory in 2014. He has also won bronze medals at the 2011 European Championships and the 2015 World Cup.

With 12 seasons and 280 matches on PlusLiga courts under his belt, Mika’s experience and prowess will surely boost PGE Skra Bełchatów in the upcoming season.
