Chemik Police, a top-tier volleyball club from Poland, has officially welcomed a new star player into their ranks – Elizabeth Inneh-Varga. The club announced this exciting news via their social media platforms.
After two commendable seasons in Korea – playing for Daejon Korea Ginseng Corp in 2022/23 and Pepper Saving Bank in 2021/22 – Inneh-Varga is set to embark on a new chapter of her career in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
Inneh-Varga’s performance in the Korean V-League was nothing short of exceptional. She is the first player since 2014 to score over 1,000 points in a season, netting a total of 1,015 points in the previous season. This Romanian/Hungarian opposite is renowned for her formidable statistics, which saw her outperform many of her peers in the Korean V-League. Her accomplishments in the league have solidified her position among the most proficient players globally.
Only two other players have surpassed the 1,000 points mark in the Korean V-League history – Brazilian opposite Joyce Silva and Madelaynne Montaño from Colombia, both ex-KGC players.
Joyce Silva was able to tally up to 1,009 points in the 2013/2014 season, while Montano holds the current all-time record, scoring 1,076 points in the 2011/2012 season.
