The Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta announced the strategic enhancement of its team with the incorporation of Dražen Luburić, Dick Kooy, and Mahdi Jelveh Ghaziani. The agreement with these three players extends until the conclusion of the upcoming season.
Dražen Luburić, a Serbian volleyball professional, comes to Fenerbahçe after playing for the Lokomotiv Novosibirsk from the 2020/21 through the 2022/23 seasons. Luburić commenced his career back in the 2011/12 season with Vojvodina Novi Sad. Following that, he represented several renowned teams including Volley Piacenza, JT Thunders, Zenit St. Petersburg, Halkbank, and Belogorie Belgorod.
Joining Luburić is Dick Kooy, a Dutch-born Italian player, who spent the 2022/23 season with PGE Skra Bełchatów. Kooy embarked on his volleyball career in the 2005/06 season with VC Allvo. His trajectory has included stints with notable teams such as Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande, Casa Modena, Cucine Lube Banca Marche Macerata, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Halkbank, Dynamo Moscow, Gas Sales Piacenza, Itas Trentino, and PGE Skra Belchatow.
The final reinforcement is Iranian player Mahdi Jelveh Ghaziani, coming from Nian Electronic where he played in the 2022/23 season. Ghaziani started his professional journey in the 2017/18 season with Paykan Tehran and subsequently played for Saipa Tehran and Foolad Sirjan.
The inclusion of Luburić, Kooy, and Ghaziani undoubtedly strengthens the Fenerbahçe, promising an exciting season ahead.
