José Miguel Gutiérrez has transitioned to Qatar’s Al Arabi SC, leaving behind Italy’s Gioiella Prisma Taranto. This transfer will see Gutiérrez donning the Al Arabi SC jersey for the remainder of the season. Al Arabi SC, currently leading the championship with one more victory than its closest rival Al Rayyan SC, boasts of players like Russian outside hitter Aleksei Spiridonov and Brazilian opposite Gabriel José da Silva Cândido.
However, the arrival of Gutiérrez hints at a shake-up in the team composition due to foreign player limit rules. It appears that Aleksei Spiridonov, despite his stellar performances and having led his previous team Al Ahli SC to a historic Qatar Cup win and a second-place finish in the Qatar Super League, will be the player making way.
Gutiérrez’s move to Qatar comes after two seasons in Italy, following his stint with France’s Chaumont, marking another chapter in his professional volleyball career.
