For the 2024/2025 season, Tuomas Sammelvuo will take on the role of head coach for Asseco Resovia Rzeszów.
The 48-year-old Finnish coach has an extensive background in both club and national team coaching. In addition to his new role at Asseco Resovia, Sammelvuo is also the head coach of Canada’s national team.
After retiring as a player in 2013, Sammelvuo began his coaching career. He led the Finnish national team from 2013 to 2018 and took over Kuzbass Kemerovo in 2016, achieving notable success. He later coached Zenit Saint Petersburg and the Russian national team, winning the Nations League in 2019 and a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
More recently, he led Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle to multiple titles, including the Polish Cup and Champions League.
Joining Sammelvuo at Asseco Resovia are assistant coaches Alfredo Martilotti and Alek Achrem, with Gabriele Dedda overseeing physical training.
