SC Potsdam has filled its head coach position for the 2025/2026 season with a well-known name: Stefano Micoli. The Italian coach steps in after Vladimir Kapris, who was initially set to take over, accepted an offer from Turkish champion VakifBank Istanbul to join Giovanni Guidetti’s staff.
Despite the last-minute change, SC Potsdam moved quickly. “Micoli brings a wealth of experience,” said managing director Eugen Benzel. “We’re confident he’s the right person to guide our team forward.”
Micoli, 57, has coached top teams like Fenerbahçe Istanbul, CSM Bucharest, and Volley Bergamo. He said the chance to coach in Germany had long been on his radar and he’s excited to start this new chapter in Potsdam.
The club has signed him through 2027, with an option for one more season. While Kapris’ decision was unexpected, SC Potsdam is optimistic about the road ahead under Micoli’s leadership.
