After completing the season in China, Serbian national team’s opposite hitter, Aleksandar Atanasijević, is set to play for Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. As reported by Sportal.bg, the 32-year-old will join Lokomotiv in January.
Currently, Atanasijević is participating in the European Championship with the Serbian national team, alongside Dražen Luburić, a former Lokomotiv Novosibirsk player.
Throughout his career, Atanasijević has played for notable clubs including Serbian Partizan Belgrade, Italian Perugia, and Polish PGE Skra Bełchatów. Among his notable achievements are winning the Italian championship in 2018, securing Champions League runner-up positions in 2012 and 2017, and numerous triumphs with the Serbian national team. Specifically, he has clinched 2 golds and 2 bronzes at EuroVolley, a gold, silver, and bronze at the FIVB World League. Additionally, in the World Championships, he garnered gold for the U19 category, silver for U23, and a bronze in the U19.
