The vice-champions Praia prevailed in the big match of Round 8 of the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season against Bauru by a 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-15).
The team from Uberlândia played their first match upon returning from the Club World Championship in China and was deprived of the help from starting outside hitter Fernanda Garay “Fê Garay”. The one-time Olympic champion broke her nose in a duel against Itambé/Minas in the Club World Champs and underwent surgery.
Dominican Brayelin Martínez top-scored for Praia with 16 points, while Azerbaijani Polina Rahimova tallied 13 points for Bauru. With the win, Praia maintained a perfect record in the league (6-0) and reached 18 points to come in third in the charts. Bauru remained fourth with 5-4 and 17 points.
Osasco/Audax beat C.R. Flamengo in a balanced game but drop one point to stay in second place in the standings with 7-1 and 18 points.
