The Italy National Team wasn’t the only participant of the 2020 CEV U20 Men’s Volleyball European Championship whose players got infected with the coronavirus during the tournament. The same happened to the national teams of Germany and Poland.

The German Volleyball Association (DVV) has informed that six members of its U20 national team were tested positive for COVID-19 following the European Championship in the Czech Republic. They all went into the mandatory quarantine.

The DVV will contact the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) to find out why the “hygiene concept at EuroVolley, which was presented prior to the tournament and sounded conclusive and secure on paper, wasn’t implemented consistently in order to guarantee the safety of all participants of the event”.

Recall that the Italy National team also reported positive tests of its players, as many as seven, while, in the meantime, Poland informed of one positive case.
