The new setter of Perugia is former Italy National Team member, Travica, who arrived from Kioene Padova where he spent the last three seasons. The Croatian-born, a son of a prominent coach Ljubomir Travica, is projected to replace Luciano De Cecco (went to Cucine Lube Civitanova) in the Perugia’s lineup.
The 33-year-old player won many medals during his two-decade-long career of which the gold medal in the 2014 CEV Champions League (with Russia’s Belogorie), Italian Championship (with Cucine Lube Civitanova in 2012), and Turkish Championship (with Halkbank in 2016) stand out the most. Individually, Travica is a proud owner of the award for the Best Setter in the 2011 CEV EuroVolley.
At the same time, Perugia said goodbye to several players who already found clubs for the next season (De Cecco, Podraščanin, and Zhukouski) but also to two players who are still in pursuit for their new teams (Hoogendoorn and Täht).

This will free up a spot for foreign player but not sure whether that will be enough to compensate the fact that Travica is not 1st class setter. However considering that Lube also degraded in that area Trentino and Modena will have advantage in that position.
