The Brazilian opposite hitter Araújo came to Turkey’s four-time champions Arkas as a capital reinforcement. The 28-year-old player was competing with Rennes, France, last season which he finished as the second-best scorer of the national championship (483 points).

Araújo is a former Brazil National Team member with whom he won the 2013 FIVB U23 World Championship. He left his home country four years ago, playing abroad since then. While playing in Brazil, Araújo won the national championship as a teenager with Cimed.

In Arkas, he is projected to replace Adis Lagumdžija, the young star who’s heading towards Italy.
