As To Fly Volleyball reported, one of the most promising world’s female volleyball players Melissa Vargas found herself in disgrace of the Cuban federation last year!

When she made her debut for the senior national team of Cuba at the age of 13, in 2013, a career full of great moments was predicted for her. And it went in that direction. She joined the Czech side VK Prostějov in 2015, competing in the national championship and CEV Champions League as a part of implementing the rule of the Cuban federation that their players are allowed to compete abroad if a policy of trust between the Cuban government and government of the country in question exists.

But Vargas suffered a shoulder injury and underwent the surgery at the end of 2016. Since her parents did not accept the terms of the Cuban federation regarding her recovery and took an athlete away from the National Volleyball School to her home city Cienfuegos, the Federation applied a penalty on Vargas on January 2017, downgrading the category in which she was competing. It meant that she was not allowed to compete in the tournaments of an international level.

The penalty on an 18-year-old outside hitter is still on…
