Hisamitsu Springs got off on the right foot in 2018 and preserved their unbeaten record in the Japanese women’s volleyball championship V-League, which now consists of 15 wins and 0 losses! By beating Hitachi Rivale at home by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-22), Hisamitsu secured their berth in the F6, five rounds before the end of the regular season. Rika Nomoto topped the winning side with 19 points (4 kill blocks).
Another club that punched their ticket for the Final Six is JT Marvelous. They outplayed Toyota Auto Body Queenseis by a 3-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23) thanks to 26 points from the Serbian outside hitter Brankica Mihajlović.
The defending champions NEC Red Rockets disappointed their fans for the 10th time this season. They lost to the visiting side Denso Airybees by a 3-2, for whom their captain Mizuho Ishida delivered 25 points (4 kill blocks).
By losing to Toray Arrows 3-1, Ageo Medics remained out off Finals Six composition for now. An import from the USA, Kadie Rolfzen, tallied 26 points for Toray.
