ACH Volley Ljubljana are the unprecedented champions of Slovenia. The team from the country’s capital swept the 2018/19 1. DOL Moški playoff final series with Calcit Volley by prevailing in Game 3 in four sets, partially 25-19, 25-21, 16-25 and 25-19. Thus, ACH Volley won the 15th straight national title, the 16th overall.

ACH Volley finished the regular season unbeaten (18-0) and lost only six sets while making this record. Maybe a bit surprisingly knowing their regular season campaign, the Ljubljana side struggled in the playoffs which they started from the semifinals, skipping the quarterfinals as the top seed. They had to play the tie-break against the fourth seed Salonit Anhovo in Game 1 before achieving a straight-set win in Game 2 and advancing to the finals. In the gold medal matchup against No.3 seed Calcit, ACH Volley also had to prevail one game in the tie-break, which was the opener. After that, the new-old champions scored a 3-0 and a 3-1 victory to close the final series.

The Croatian outside hitter Petar Đirlić top-scored for ACH Volley in Game 3 of the finals with 15 points. Diko Purič added four of the team’s 15 kill blocks, while captain Jan Pokeršnik made 72% positive reception (36 total, one error, 31% perfect). Ukrainian Dmitrii Babkov scored 15 points for Calcit.

2018/19 1. DOL Moški playoff finals – Game 3:

(1) ACH Volley Ljubljana – (3) Calcit Volley 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 16-25, 25-19)

I believe there has been a typo. Libero is Jani Kovačič and not Jan Pokeršnik(receiver)
