A decision of the best player in the history of PlusLiga, Wlazły, to leave PGE Skra Bełchatów after 17 years shocked many volleyball aficionados in Poland. Media in the country speculate regarding the name of the club in which the 2014 FIVB World Championship MVP will continue his career. One stands out – Trefl Gdańsk. Even their President, Dariusz Gadomski, admitted there’s something going on there.
“I won’t hide that we had a word with Mariusz, but due to the epidemic, we’ve stopped all transfer talks. We have to look into the situation, assess our capabilities, then we’ll return to negotiations,“ the head of Trefl said to Przegląd Sportowy.
What turns to be the obstacle for such a transfer hit is the fact that Trefl are trying to find an individual sponsor to cover the contract of Wlazły.
