General Manager of Turkey’s leading volleyball agency and a manager of Selime Ilyasoglu has reacted on Cuneo’s move to terminate a contract with his player:
„I am very surprised that the Italian club Cuneo cut our player Selime Ilyasoglu’s contract unilaterally but I am more surprised that the reason of termination is a medical reason. A player who started practicing with a team after positive medical checks, a player who didn’t miss any practice and even played three friendly games, being top scorer of the team against Novara, in a full month that she spent with the team. And the termination reason is medical problems?! I was thinking this kind of unprofessionalism can only happen in the third world countries. The case will go certainly to CEV and Cuneo will suffer about their unreal press release. Cuneo’s behavior didn’t fit to their spectacular history in volleyball and image of the Italian volleyball,“ says Tunc Afsar.
