Serbia have managed to beat Poland in front of 70,000 fans at the national stadium in Warsaw!

Poland vs. Serbia

Poland vs. Serbia

Nikola Grbic’s side didn’t forget about that game that was played at the World Championship opening. That was a stunning performance from Poland, but now, three years later, Serbia took revenge on the World champions at the start of EuroVolley.

Poland have entered the game in a much better way. It lasted until Srecko Lisinac’s turn to serve. He managed to destroy the reception of host team and to make the two-point lead.

In the second set, we saw again good displays from both sides, but Serbia looked like a team that wanted this victory more than the rival. After a great battle in the second set, Serbia came out as the winner again, increasing the lead in sets 2-0!

Serbia have made a huge advantage in the third set 16-11, but Poland made a comeback by creating a 7-2 run. At the result 18:18, the block of Serbia worked perfectly to take a new lead and after the ACE of Lisinac, Grbic;s side came close to the win.

Ferdinando De Giorgi’s side gave up and Serbia have cruised to the victory 3-0!

Nikola Grbic has decided to play this match without Aleksandar Atanasijevic and as it turned out, it was a great tactical decision.

The top scorer of the game was Nemanja Petric with 15 points, while Drazen Luburic added 13 and Uros Kovacevic 12. On the other side, Michal Kubiak finished the game with 1a points.

I consider a Polish volleyball TV coverage the best in world.. However yesterday I was disappointed., during match between Poland and Serbia… The director of broadcasting ignored a lot of successful Serbian attacks and many of them did not repeated in the slow motion.. This ball optically had disappeared among Polish fans Tshirts, similar as in WL final in Brazil, etc…
Without replays we are not able to see the actions. in front of screens. It was nice to see a full stadium, it was like a pilgrimage… Nevertheless we will see a real interest of their fans in other towns where a home team does not play.. The same today- in finals of U23 M in Egypt…
Other matches – to watch the volleyball on streams is as for punishment.
