France have managed to score a victory in an epic five-set match against USA 3-2 (27-25, 25-20, 26-24, 17-25, 15-12).
Even though the U.S. team had a much better start, creating a four-point lead, the “Team Yavbou” have managed to make a comeback and to win the first set 27-25.
In the second set, we saw a quick reaction from John Speraw’s side, who has leveled up the score to 1-1! The French boys again had difficulties in the third set, losing some points at the very end to cause a new set extension. Luckily for them, they won it again 26-24!
The U.S. boys didn’t want to surrender easily so they decided to force set 5 in which we didn’t see Modena’s star Earvin Ngapeth. Even without him, France was able to win the game and to make a step to the semifinals!
The top scorers in France were Jylien Lyneel with 20 points and Stephen Boyer with 19, while on the other side Benjamin Patch had 18 and Taylor Sander 14.
