Sergio Guerra died at the age of 71. For life, he was a successful player and afterwards, even more successful coach.
He has made the history of the sport in Italy and worldwide while sitting on the bench of Olimpia Teodora Ravenna (currently competing in Division 4 as Teodora Pallavolo Ravenna) by winning 11 domestic titles in a row and entering into “Guinness Book of World Records” with that venture.
Guerra achieved it in the period from 1980 to 1991. He has also won six Italian Cups and two Champions League trophies (1988, 1992) with this team.
Guerra had successes with Italian Women’s national team, too. He led it to the bronze medal at the European Championship 1989.
