Some would think that a coach shouldn’t have objections to his players considering that they haven’t lost a single match at a tournament. But, Stéphane Antiga wants them to be even better…

Poland has a perfect score at the 2015 FIVB World Cup so far – five games, five wins. But, its coach wasn’t satisfied with the performance against Venezuela in Round 5, the last round before a two-day break on a tournament.

Antiga sent several substitutes on the court in starting lineup versus South America team and they showed many weaknesses in the match. Still, he thinks that he had to try them out in a match like that.

“We have very good substitutes and once again, we gave them a chance. We still need everyone. When they will have the chance to play if not in the matches like the one against Venezuela? It’s something else when these players make mistakes. They cannot play like that! Due to that, we nearly lost a great chance for Olympic promotion! I think the attitude of my players is something to blame, they thought that they could win the match effortlessly. We need to maintain an appropriate aggressiveness and play with enough energy against each rival…” Antiga stated for “Przegląd Sportowy”.
