PGE Projekt Warszawa announced the appointment of Tommi Tiilikainen as their new head coach. The 37-year-old Finnish expert brings a wealth of international experience, having worked in Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Finland.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to join PGE Projekt Warszawa,” said Tiilikainen. “Warsaw is a city with deep sports traditions, and our team has the potential to achieve great things—both in Poland and on the international stage. Fans can expect us to give our all every time we step on the court.”
Most recently, Tiilikainen guided Incheon Korean Air Jumbos to three South Korean championships and one silver medal over the past four seasons.
“Tommi brings a unique blend of global expertise and a fresh perspective to our club,” commented Piotr Gacek, Vice President and Sports Director of PGE Projekt Warszawa. “He understands the challenges of PlusLiga and is fully committed to helping our team reach new heights.”
This marks Tiilikainen’s debut as a head coach in the competitive Polish PlusLiga, a challenge he welcomes with open arms.
“We’re aiming to push boundaries and elevate our performance to the next level,” Tiilikainen added. “I can’t wait to get started with the team. Let’s make our fans proud!”
