Five matches, five wins - this is the score of Poland so far at the World Cup in Japan. But, it could have been different situation...

The head coach of Poland Stephane Antiga wanted to finish the game in three sets but it didn’t happen. He had a plan to rest Kurek, Drzyzga, Nowakowski and Kubiak for this match but he had to get them to the game. Venezuela was very good in the first set and at the result 18:17 for the rival Kurek and Drzyzga entered the court. It didn’t help as Venezuela won the first set 27:25!

Even in the second set, Venezuela was close to win a set. It would have been a total disaster for Poland, but they avoided this kind of epilogue. Again, Antiga had to back Drzyzga and Kurek into the court at the very end of the set and it helped to tie the score in sets! It was huge relief for Polish fans.

It gave some new energy to Polish players and they were much better in the third set. The World champions simply destroyed the rival for taking the lead 2:1!

Antiga had to worry even in the fourth set because Venezuela made 3-0 scoring run and was 22:20 up! But, after time-out and short instrouctions by the Frenchmen, Poland managed to make turnaround and to win the match!
