As it was known from earlier, Gianlorenzo Blengini, a head coach of Italian National Team, decided to rest some major players like Zaytsev, Juantorena and Rossini. Now, he crossed out three players from preliminary roster (Nelli, Cester and Fedrizzi) and has chosen this 18-man squad for the tournament in which „Azzurri“ will play their first Group 1 match on June 2, against Iran:
Candellaro, Randazzo, Pesaresi, Vettori, Spirito, Giannelli, Balaso, Mazzone D., Lanza, Buti, Colaci, Piano, Antonov, Botto, Sabbi, Ricci, Mazzone T. and Sbertoli.
