Gennari
Serie A1 members sealed the deal with Italian NT player, competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics, Alessia Gennari.
A 25-year-old receiver, who scored 163 points last season, came to Busto from Foppapedretti Bergamo with whom she won national Cup in 2015/2016. It was not her best achievement in career as she became national champion with Pomì Casalmaggiore, a season before.
Thus, Gennari joined University of Minnesota receiver Sarah Wilhite, who also came to the club, and the quintet who extended their contracts in Busto roster for 2017/2018.
But, this is not all. According to “DOMTeam”, Busto managed to persuade their second best scorer (294 points in Serie A1 last season), Dominican receiver Brayelin Martínez, to stay for one more season and thus, win the battle over several Brazilian top division teams for her.
