Südtirol Bolzano could not handle the expenses of competing in the Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship in 2017/18. Now, Metalleghe Montichiari experienced the same fate.

As Montichiari published on their website, they gave up on competing in Serie A1 due to losing their main sponsor, the company “Metalleghe” (producer of carbons and ferroalloy briquettes for steelmaking).

Thus, after 45 years of existence and five years of collaboration with the above mentioned company, Montichiari will start from scratch, which means from the lowest ranks of the Italian volleyball.

Bolzano experienced the same fate this summer, while Foppapedretti’s survival will be endangered at the end of next season.
