A 31-year-old Kunihiro Shimizu sustained a right knee injury in Round 4 of the V.League against JT Thunders, two days ago. Further examinations showed he injured an anterior cruciate ligament which will require a surgery and a 12-month full recovery.

Shimizu, the captain of Japan national team, is the best attacker of the Panthers in the Top 6 and also the second best attacker of this stage of the tournament, averaging 56.6% attack per game.
