Fans in Varna
As you can see in the picture above the host of the final tournament had a huge support from the stands. Thousands of fans came to the Hall in Varna to help Plamen Konstantinov and his boys and they stayed with them even after a tight loss of the first set – 25:23.
Bulgaria used that support to tie the score pretty quickly – 25:14, while then home squad won the next too sets as well – 25:18, 25:20 and advanced to the big finals!
The best player in the winning side was experienced Vladimir Nikolov who made 22 points, while Todor Alexiev and Nikolay Nikolov added 16. Do not forget that Bulgaria was much weakened as Todor Skrimov and Svetoslav Gotsev could not help their teammates due to injuries.
Bulgaria is now waiting for their opponent in the big finals. The winner of the Group 2 will immediately advance to the World League Final-Six in Rio.
