Head coach of the Turkish powerhouse Massimo Barbolini decided to put the reserve team on court in this match, as his starting lineup could have more time to rest for the big semifinals clash against VakifBank. And, that decision did not have any negative effect on the final score, as Eczacibasi VitrA subs did their job against PSL-F2 Logistics.
The Orange crew scored another victory, but the real winners of this match are PSL-F2 Logistics and their fans. The Philippine crew managed to return from big deficit in the 3rd period and to seize their 1st ever set at the FIVB WOmen’s Club World Championship! The heroine of the home side was Alyja Santiago who made 3 consecutive aces in the finish of the set.
Still, Eczacibasi VitrA quickly recovered from this shock and ended the match by winning the 4th set.
