RUS M: Ural and Surgut retain Superliga places for next season

Ural Ufa and Gazprom-Yugra Surgut retained their places in the Russian men’s volleyball championship Superliga for the next season.

No.9 Ural Ufa made a sweep against No.14 Yugra-Samotlor Nizhenavrtovsk in the 2017/18 Superliga play-out series, prevailing in Game 3 in straight sets, partially 25-18, 29-27, 25-23. The Belarusian Radzivon Miskevich topped Ural with 13 points. Igor Filippov added 6 kill blocks for the winning side. Sergey Piraynen scored 19 points for Samotlor

No.10 Gazprom-Yugra Surgut won the series against No.13 Yaroslavich Yaroslavl by a 3-0, claiming Game 3 in the tie-break.

No.12 Enisey Krasnoyarsk took a 2-1 lead in the series against No.11 Dinamo-LO Leningardskaya Oblast.

The three teams who got eliminated from the play-out will have the last chance to retain Superliga places in the tournament in which all of them, plus the second-placed team from Division 2 (Vysshaya Liga „A“), will take part.
