It was a real battle of two volleyball giants. At the end, HalkBank will play in the CEV Champions League Playoffs 6 stage, while Modena have finished their European journey.

HalkBank have made it! Turkish powerhouse “survived” the rematch against Modena in PalaPanini and advanced to the next stage of the CEV Champions League Playoffs!

The visitors had a better opening as they clinched the first set, but then Modena answered back by taking the second and the third set! The crowd in PalaPanini regained hope that their team might make a full comeback, as the Yellow crew needed a win by 3-0 or 3-1 to take this clash into the golden set… But, that did not happen.

Michal Kubiak did not let that happen. Polish super star was just unstoppable in the fourth set, he was scoring from every position, while HalkBank eventually clinched the set and the ticket for the Playoffs 6 stage.

Still, it must be mentioned that Kubiak also deserves critics for his behavior, as his point celebration was in several occasions not according to the fair play. The referee punished him with a yellow card, while the crowd in Pala Panini tried to whistle at him every time he had contact with the ball.

Still, after HalkBank seized the fourth set, even those whistles disappeared…

Critics for behaviour deserves Ngapeth, who after the match slabs someone from turkish staff face .. Kubiak doesn’t talk or goad anyone from Modena team, only makes angry Italian suppoters, but they barracked him from the start of the match. Fault was mutual.
