Still, despite losing the chance of winning the tournament, the USA found strength to give their best in the 3rd place match and to claim the bronze by beating Netherlands in four sets.
“The biggest difference between London and today in Rio is that we ended the competition with a win. Losing anytime in your final match of any competition is disheartening. I am very pleased and proud with the way our team responded today after losing to Serbia,” said USA head coach Karch Kiraly.
