NCAA W: The top four seeds will host regional Semifinals and Finals

The top four seeds will have the home court advantage in the regionals of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Division I Championship, the tournament’s Committee has decided.

The top four seeds Pennsylvania State, Florida, Stanford (the defending champions) and Kentucky, respectively, will host regional Semifinals and Finals (16 teams that advanced through First and Second Round) of the Women’s Division I Championship on December 8 and December 9.

Besides naming campus sites that will organize the regionals, the Committee made a historical decision to implement the video challenge system, as from this phase of the tournament, for the first time ever.

State College Regional (State College, Pennsylvania)

No.1 Penn State* (31-1) vs. Missouri (22-11)

Michigan State (23-8) vs. Illinois (23-10)

Gainesville Regional (Gainesville, Florida)

No.2 Florida* (27-1) vs. No.15 UCLA (21-10)

No.7 Minnesota (28-5) vs. No.10 Southern California (24-9)

Stanford Regional (Stanford, California)

No.6 Texas (26-2) vs. No.11 Utah (24-9)

No.3 Stanford* (28-3) vs. Wisconsin (22-9)

Lexington Regional (Lexington, Kentucky)

No.4 Kentucky (28-3) vs. No.13 BYU (30-2)

No.5 Nebraska (28-4) vs. Colorado (24-9)

The regional winners will advance to the National Championship Semifinals and Finals co-hosted by the University of Missouri – Kansas City and University of Kansas at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 14 and 16.
