Today begins the sixth edition of the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour Finals, with 10 teams per gender competing for medals in the final competition of the season. A five-day competition for prizes worth $ 800,000 is being held at the picturesque Molo Sanita in the port of Cagliari on the island of Sardinia.
In each gender, the 10 teams participating in the World Tour Finals were divided into two Pools of five pairs and they will play in single round-robin format. The winners of the Pools will advance directly to Saturday’s semifinals, while each of the two runners-up will have to play against the third-placed team of the second pool in the quarterfinals. Gold and bronze medal matches are scheduled for Sunday.
