Borger & Sude made a surprise by winning the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour Finals

Karla Borger and Julia Sude are the winners of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals in Cagliari. This is the fourth title for Germany in a total of six editions of the World Tour Finals. The silver went to reigning world champions, Canadians Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes.

April Ross and Alix Klineman from the United states claimed the bronze. It was the first women’s medal for the United States at the World Tour Finals.

Karla Borger and Julia Sude defeated Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes 2-0 (21-13, 23-21) and reached the top spot on the podium, while in the match for the bronze medal, reigning Olympic champions April and Alix played against Nadezda Makroguzova and Svetlana Kholomina from Russia.  April and Alix won 2-0 (21-8, 21-17) for their place on the podium of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals.
