The French international is currently playing in Toray Arrows and his team will be playing in the next stage of the championship. Well, we took an opportunity to ask him: How’s it going in Japan?

“Very good, I’m very happy to be here. I feel lucky to play in this league.”

Did you get used to life in this country?

Yes, I am. Everything is very different from the French way of life but I get used to it. It’s very interesting to discover a new country and culture.”

Since this is your first time to play in V-League, what do you think about it?

I think that it is a very serious league. There are many investments here and even if it’s not the most impressive championship compared to Italy or Russia. All players are really technical, the level in defense is impressive and each game is a big fight.”

How far can Toray Arrows go?

Our first goal is to join the final 6. Then everything is possible, and we’ll be fighting for a medal for sure.”

How do you spend your free time there?

Netflix is my religion! My family is not here all the time, but when my wife and son come to visit, I just love to spend time with them. Otherwise, I watch a tv show, I play video games, read some books… nothing really exciting!”

You said you play video games: Which one?

God of War on PS. The best game of 2018.”

What do you usually watch on Netflix?

I watch almost everything. My favorites are “Black Mirror” and “Peaky Blinders”.”

Are you planning to join some European team for the playoffs?

“Not at all.”

What’re your plans for the summer?

Enjoy some free time with my family. But I won’t stop volleyball too long cause I need to stay in a good shape for the next season.”

Since you mentioned retirement once, do you think that you are close to end the career?

No, I’m not. I still feel very good on the court. I feel fit, I lost 6 kilos since I’m here, I have no physical issues … I don’t feel like I am at the end of anything right now.”

What are the chances of France to reach the Olympic Games, since they are in the Pool with Poland, Slovenia, Tunisia?

Like I always say, I’m very confident about their chances in all competitions. They have a really big potential: strong and experimented players, but also young players very talented. I’m sure they’ll make it and win a medal this time.”
