The 32-year-old Milos Nikic had no luck this season.

The first part of the season Nikic played in Argentina and before the New Year, he got the offer from the Turkish Ziraat Bankasi.

Unfortunately, his episode at Ankara’s club lasted for just a month. He injured left knee during the match against Maliye Milli Piyango and he finished the season.

In the meantime, I was operated in Novi Sad and now I will be on the rehabilitation at least six months. But, I hope in summer, I will begin with the preparations for the new season. It will take some time, but I hope to find a club” said Nikic who is very grateful to people from the club:

“I cannot forget the people from Ziraat Bankasi. They wanted to pay me all the costs of treatment and surgery in Turkey or Serbia. There was no question about the payment of the contract until the end of the season, although I was only one month at the club. So many calls, worries, words of support from them. Big people, I do not know what else to say. Thanks to everyone, I will never forget that. I wish to the club a lot of success both on the domestic and European scene. I’m sorry that they will not fight for the title, but I hope that they will reach the finals in the CEV Cup because they deserve it” said experienced attacker on the day of the re-match between Ziraat and Verona in Ankara.

From now on Ziraat is one of my favorite clubs. It is rare today to find a club that is looking after their players even when they are injured. Milos is born champion, and I have no doubt he will play on his level next season.

They should rather put all their money on talent and recruitment scouting. They bought too many broken players this season that did not help their cause all season long.
Although I agree that they handled the situation very well but that’s because turkish clubs associated with banking almost have an infinite money to waste. If they don’t have the money to spare… he wouldn’t get this type of treatment. It’s a great gesture but Ziraat has to be careful with dealing contracts to players.
