Ivan-Zaytsev
Secondary schools in Italy have started the project which involved country’s famous sports champions, who prepared a quote and an introduction of a hypothetical story that students need to finish. Ivan Zaytsev was chosen for the volleyball.
Then, the classes participated in the competition. After choosing the sport and the champion, they had to write a fantasy story based on the words shared by the athletes. The class that wins will have the honor to make an interview with the chosen athlete.
The winning class was from the secondary school Giuseppe Pescetti from Sesto Fiorentino, who wrote about Ivan Zaytsev. And, as a reward, they met him. Not in person because he has increasing commitments with Sir Safety Conad Perugia, but via Skype. He talked to the students about volleyball, PlayStation, his paternity… Of course, Zaytsev commented on the character that a fantasy story of the class was all about – Nathan. He was described in a story as a boy not very gifted from the physical point of view and quite clumsy, ridiculed by the others, having a serve that in some way changed his life forever. More or less, what happened to Ivan Zaytsev.
Interestingly, this story was turned into a book “The last serve” and will find its way to the bookstores.
