WAGNER MEMORIAL 2018: Russia down France in four sets

In a super exciting game, the men's volleyball national team of Russia has downed the French team in four sets to grab the first victory at the Hubert Wagner Memorial.

FranceRussia game was much more intense compared to the opening game between Poland and Canada.

Russia have opened the game by taking the first set very quickly 25-16, however, in the second the set we saw an answer from the French side to tie the score 1-1 (25-23).

To prove that they are the main favorites for winning the World Championship gold, the Russians started playing again at the highest level, destroying the shaky defense of the French side for a new lead 2-1 (25-20).

The fourth set was very exciting, knowing France were closer to tie the game, however, the Russian side has managed to prevent them from doing so and won the match in four sets!

The first round of Wagner Memorial:

Poland – Canada 3:0 (29:27, 25:17, 25:19) Report

France – Russia 1-3 (16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 24-26)

The second round, Saturday (August 25):

Poland – France 14:00 CET

Russia – Canada 17:00 CET

The third round, Sunday (August 26):

France – Canada 14:00 CET

Poland – Russia 17:30 CET
