But before we go with that part of the interview, let’s talk about the club’s season in Italy.
In the last season, you were a member of Latina. How would you rate the season in Serie A1?
„If I need to tell you from zero to 10, I would say between seven and eight. Of course, there is always room for improvement and I think we could make it even better in Serie A1.“
Are you satisfied with your performances throughout the last season?
„My general impression is that I had a good season. However, there are games where I could perform even better but I am satisfied with my overall season performance. I gained also a new experience which will be very significant for my future challenges.“
It’s been your third season in Italy. Do you think that the 2018/2019 edition of Serie A1 had very strong teams and players?
„In the season 2018/2019, Serie A1 was the best league in the world definitely. Many stars players joined the league, starting from Leon all the way to Lube’s stars. The league is getting better each year.“
Have you found a team for the next season or you still considering offers?
„I am still considering offers. I am waiting for some good solution, to make a smart move. Along with my manager, we are trying to find the best possible place for me.“
Do you have some league where you would like to play in the future?
„Since I am 23, I am looking to find a club where I could stay for a few seasons. The best would be some quality league such as Italy, Poland, or Turkey. I don’t have some specific country where I would like to play, these terms that I mentioned before are actually more important for me.“
There are a lot of challenges during this summer regarding the Slovenian national team. What are the chances of your team at the Olympic Qualification tournament, knowing that you are in a Pool along with Poland, France, and Tunisia?
„For us, the Olympic Games qualifiers are the most important. We have very difficult rivals in our Pool, the world champions Poland, France and Tunisia. However, our team has a chance, of course, we proved it already, back in 2015 at the European Championship. That means we are able to beat them all. Slovenia wants to prove that we deserve to be at the Tokyo Olympics.“
What would be your advice for all young volleyball players that are entering the volleyball world?
„Work, Work, Work. The more you work, the more you grow. My father told me once that I can’t ever say „I can’t“ or „I don’t know“… You need to have goals and you need to go after them. Do not give up on your dreams.“
