Paris 2024 W: Beach Volleyball Semifinals Set – Canada vs. Switzerland and Brazil vs. Australia

In the upcoming Olympic beach volleyball semifinals, Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson will face Switzerland’s Tanja Huberli and Nina Brunner. Meanwhile, Brazil’s Ana Patricia Ramos and Eduarda Santos Lisboa (Duda) will compete against Australia’s Mariafe Artacho Del Solar and Taliqua Clancy. This lineup features teams from four different continents, showcasing a truly global competition for the medals.

On Wednesday, Melissa and Brandie, the fourth seeds, secured a spot in the semifinals with a 2-0 victory over Spain’s Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno. Melissa and Brandie outperformed the 18th-seeded Spanish team with set scores of 21-18 and 21-18. Brandie led with 17 points, including three kill blocks, while Melissa added 13 points. Moreno was Spain’s top scorer with 15 points.

In the final women’s quarterfinal, top-seeded Ana Patricia and Duda maintained their perfect streak at Paris 2024 by defeating ninth-seeded Tina and Anastasija 2-0, with set scores of 21-16 and 21-10. Duda was the standout with 17 points and two aces, while Ana Patricia contributed with two aces, five kill blocks, and nine attack points. Anastasija led for Latvia with 14 points, including three aces.
