In the men’s Olympic beach volleyball semifinals, Norway’s Anders Mol and Christian Sorum will clash with Germany’s Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler, while Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan will compete against Sweden’s David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig. Both Mol & Sorum and Cherif & Ahmed advanced from Wednesday’s quarterfinals, moving closer to the Olympic podium.
Mol & Sorum, the second seeds, remained unbeaten with a 5-0 record after defeating 18th-seeded Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira 2-0 (21-16, 21-17). In the last quarterfinals, Cherif & Ahmed dominated Miles Partain and Andrew Benesh with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-16) victory. The Qatari duo remains undefeated after five matches in Paris. Cherif led with 19 points, including five blocks and 13 kills, while Ahmed contributed 11 points and an ace.
