Egypt’s Al Ahly of Cairo came back from a set down to successfully defended their title with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-19) win over Tunisia’s CF de Carthage in the final of the 2019 African Women’s Club Championship in the Egyptian capital.
It is the tenth time in the history if the competition and second time running that Al Ahly climbs the highest step on the podium. CFC’s only title was in 2017 when they beat El Shams Cairo in the final.
Monday’s final was a rematch of the gold medal matches of 2016 and 2018, both won by the Egyptian side.
