Completion of the Group Phase of the 2023 African Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship in Yaoundé and Quarterfinal Matchups Announced
On the fifth day of the African Women’s Volleyball Championship, Pool A’s Egypt continues its dominant run, finishing the group stage undefeated. Meanwhile, in Pool B, Kenya mirrors this performance, ending their group phase with five victories.
The competition’s fifth day showcased intriguing matches. The day began with a clash between Rwanda and Morocco. After a fiercely fought five sets, Morocco emerged victorious, winning 3-2 with set scores of 25-18, 19-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-9.
In the day’s second match, Uganda triumphed over Burkina Faso in straight sets. This was followed by another nail-biter as Algeria edged past Nigeria in five sets, securing the 2nd spot in Pool A’s standings.
Egypt effortlessly defeated Burundi in three sets, paralleled by Kenya’s victory over Lesotho. In the day’s concluding match, Cameroon bested Mali, also in straight sets.
The quarterfinal matchups are as follows:
