In a riveting finale of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour’s Elite 16 event in Hamburg, teams Duda/Ana Patrícia and Åhman/Hellvigg emerged as champions in women’s and men’s competitions respectively.
Brazilian powerhouses Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos continued their commanding presence on the Pro Tour, clinching the title against Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss of the USA. The leaders of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Ranking secured a straight-set victory (21-16, 21-17) in the gold medal showdown at Am Rothenbaum Stadium. Notably, the German duo Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann rode on home support to secure third place, registering a straight-set win (21-15, 21-19) over Brazilians Carol and Bárbara.
On the men’s side, Swedes David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig made a splendid return to the international scene, capturing the gold. Their intense three-setter (21-16, 22-24, 21-19) against Italians Paolo Nicolai and Samuele Cottafava was a highlight of the event. Norway’s Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, the Olympic and world champions, made their presence felt too. They secured a bronze with a two-set victory (21-19, 21-16) over Brazilians Andre Loyola and George Wanderley.
