It’s official — Myriam Sylla, Olympic champion and one of volleyball’s most decorated players, is leaving Italy’s Serie A for the first time in her career. The 30-year-old outside hitter has signed a two-year contract with Galatasaray Daikin Istanbul, marking a major coup for the Turkish club.

Sylla departs Vero Volley Milano after a standout season in which she helped secure silver in the Italian league and bronze in the CEV Champions League. Over more than a decade, she has built an extraordinary résumé: three Italian championships, four Italian Cups, a Champions League title, a Club World Championship, and multiple “Best Outside Hitter” awards — including at the 2025 Nations League.
With Italy’s national team, Sylla has captured gold at the Tokyo Olympics, the 2021 European Championship, and three Nations League titles. The World Championship gold remains the only major honor missing from her collection — a goal she’ll chase later this year in Thailand.
Galatasaray is counting on Sylla’s experience, attacking power, and winning mentality to strengthen their push for titles at home and in Europe.
“A new chapter begins, and I’m ready to give everything for Galatasaray,” Sylla shared after the announcement.
