ARG M: UPCN again defeated La Union and became one step closer to the semis

In the second game of the quarterfinals series UPCN San Juan defeated La Unión de Formosa Club 3-1 (25:16, 23:25, 25:19, 25:21) and they are one step away from the semifinals. In the first set dominion of UPCN San Juan Volleyball was clear from the start, they attacked and defended every ball. Bogdan Olteanu and Pablo Bengolea had a good segment (7-4). For the visitor Alejandro Spajic and Gustavo Scholtis played good in this set. With good teamwork UPCN San Juan kept the first set with 25:16.

In the second set the Union took the lead for the first time in the series with 7:5. But UPCN managed to reduce the gap and tie. However Formosa was great in attack and block and took off (14-10). The visit team came in to the comfortable zone with lead (20-16). San Juan comeback to within two goals (23-21). An error of Evandro Guerra gave La Union the first set against UPCN 25-23.

The start of the third set brought great volley from both team. Alexander Moreno led the attack of the away team, and at time-out the Union was winning 8:6. UPCN responded quickly thanks to great job by Jose Santos Junior and turn the score 14:12. UPCN San Juan keeped the lead and closed the set with 25:19.

The visitor risked more in the fourth set and got the lead 13:15. The San Juan scored three straight points and the score was turned 16:15. The talent and good play by Junior were key to UPCN take advantage. Evandro got an ace at 21-19. Home team celebrated at 25:21. They are very close to the semifinals.
