The top scorer of the game was the Mexican Alejandra Isiordia with 19, followed by Lisbeth Sainz with 14. For Colombia, Andrea Estrada and Danna Escobar, each finished with 13 points.
“Mentally we are well, calm, I think it was a good result because we had a few days without training,” said Isiordia, the captain of Mexico.
It turned out different for Colombian captain, Diana Arrechea, who said they lost the focus a bit. “I do not know if it’s the hot weather here, Bogota now is very cold, but we did not combine well for the reception.”
“It was very important the reception we had, very even, and also the attack,” said the Argentinean Estanislao Vachino, coach of Mexico. “We knew how hard it is Colombia, the third in South America, with whom we lost 2-3 last year.”
The Brazilian Mauro Marasciulo, coach of the losers, thinks his team still has many things to fix as the full recovery of its opposite player, who became a mother just a few months ago. “We must continue to improve because we came here with only one month of preparation.”
